PSV have secured a crushing 6-1 home win over FC Groningen, narrowing the gap with Premier League leader AZ to just three points, though AZ have so far played one match less.

PSV’s goals were netted by Kevin Strootman, Dries Mertens, Zakaria Labyad, Georginio Wijnaldum, Tim Matavz and Ola Toivonen. Nicklas Pedersen scored for the away team.

NAC have drawn 2-2 with SC Heerenveen, extending their undefeated streak to 11 matches. Heerenveen took the lead with a fine shot by the Serbian Filip Djuricic but then NAC’s Anthony Lurling and an own goal by Ramon Zomer left the home side up 2-1 by half-time. Fifteen minutes into the second half Daryl Janmaat scored the equaliser.

Roda JC have beaten Heracles Almelo 3-1, climbing to the middle regions of the Premier League table. Mads Junker scored the match’s first two goals, on 66 and 68 minutes. Some 15 minutes before the end Willie Overtoom managed to get one in for Heracles but Roda’s Sanharib Malki, assisted by Junker, struck back immediately. The victory allowed Roda, who now have 18 points, to overtake Heracles, who remain stuck with 17.

De Graafschap have fought their way out of the relegation zone by securing a 2-1 away victory over VVV-Venlo, who now are second to last in the table. Michael Uchebo put the home side ahead before half-time, with Rydell Poepon scoring the equaliser in the second half and Yuri Rose netting the winner just minutes before the end. Despite their victory, De Graafschap remain on 16th spot, just one point behind NEC, whereas VVV, now on 17th place, have fallen five points behind De Graafschap.
