Goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton suffered a serious concussion during today's Premier League home match against Ajax.

Half an hour into play he collided with team mate Timothy Derijck and remained unconscious for some time. He was taken to the neurology department at Eindhoven hospital and is being kept there for observation. A scan of his skull and neck showed no fractures.

Khalid Sinouh took over in goal after the match had been stopped for 15 minutes before Tyton could be moved. Derijck had also been hurt but was able to continue. PSV Eindhoven were one up at this point with Tim Matavz having scored in the first two minutes. Kolbeinn Sigthorsson equalised for Ajax during the long injury time which was added to the first half.

PSV went ahead again in the second half with a penalty taken by Georginio Wijnaldum but subsequently missed a number of good chances. Ajax began to put on the pressure and finally got the 2-2 equaliser thanks to Dmitry Bulykin, who had come on as substitute for Sigthorsson.

Ajax manager Frank de Boer said afterwards he was relieved to have emerged with a draw. "I thought we dominated the first half but in the second half we could have easily found ourselves 4-1 down."

Ajax now find themselves in third place in the league, one point behind behind FC Twente and AZ, with PSV in fifth place.
