AMSTERDAM - Labour PvdA and Christian democrats CDA in Parliament no longer want municipalities to automatically register children of parents with different passports as dual nationals.

MPs Mirjam Sterk (CDA) and Jeroen Dijsselbloem (PvdA) are putting the finishing touches on a private members' bill to change this practice. They decided to draw up the legislation 18 months ago, before the PvdA had any part in the government.
