AMSTERDAM - Chinese investors are seldom given a warm welcome by Dutch officials.

The Telegraaf reports that the Chinese are often treated rudely and sometimes extremely rudely when they show an interest in Dutch companies.

The Netherlands is missing out on hundreds of millions in investment because of the civil servants' attitude.

"While the Dutch government invests millions in attracting interest in our country from Chinese businesses, the Chinese are then treated as second class citizens," Robert de Vos, chairman of the Europe China Foundation, told the newspaper.
