DEN HELDER – There is nothing left of the oil slick off the coast of Scheveningen. The Coast Guard reports that the pollution is now negligible and the Arca clean-up craft is returning to port.

On Sunday morning an oil slick of about 9 square kilometres was discovered off the coast. The Arca cleaned up the slick for several hours Sunday evening.

On Monday morning inspection from the air indicated that the pollution had disappeared.

The origin of the oil is still unknown. The Coast Guard did not find any contaminated birds in the area.
