AMSTERDAM – One suspect who was involved in what turned into a fatal stabbing in Amstelveen last Thursday night has confessed he took part in the attempted robbery.

The boy (16) was arrested in Amselveen on Saturday. It is not known whether he is responsible for the fatal wound.

The police do not want to say anything yet about the questioning of a second suspect. He was recognised by an officer on motorcycle in Amsterdam. The two boys, both Amsterdam residents, have been involved in violent crimes in the past.

A 62-year-old night shop worker was stabbed to death when the boys tried to rob the shop. The perpetrators fled in the end without taking anything.
