Dutch government will pay the legal costs to appeal the death sentence against two Dutch citizens

THE NETHERLANDS - The Dutch Foreign Ministry has announced that the Netherlands will pay the legal costs for two Dutch citizens who have been sentenced to death in Indonesia for allegedly producing the party drug ecstasy.

The Foreign Ministry says that, for one, the Netherlands opposes the death penalty.

Secondly, there are also strong indications that the two did not receive a fair trial.

The Netherlands has decided it will help the two appeal the sentence.
