THE NETHERLANDS - The Netherlands is Europe’s third largest exporting country, only surpassed by Germany and France.

Figures released on Monday by CBS, the Dutch statistics office, show that the country exported goods worth EUR 400 billion in 2007.

The bulk of the exported goods were foodstuffs, oil and natural gas.

CBS attributes the country’s high ranking position to the fact that many imported goods are instantly sent on to other European countries.
