Netherlands close Libya embassy
The Netherlands has suspended all activities at their embassy in Libya and repatriated its ambassador, the foreign ministry said Friday.
"The embassy of the Netherlands closed this afternoon until further notice," the ministry said in a statement.
The ambassador left the country on a flight to Athens and was to return to the Netherlands on Saturday.
"The embassy is momentarily closed because there no longer are any Dutch nationals who ask the embassy (for assistence) to leave," the ministry said.
Contacts were however being kept with about 20 Dutch nationals who are still in the north African country.
