Dozens of arrests were reported at the Defqon beach rave in Almere.

Almere – More than 70 people were arrested at the Defqon dance party held in Almere on Saturday. Those arrested range in age from 18-46 years old.
Most of those detained were in possession of drugs, including ecstasy, GHB and cocaine. However, seven men are facing charges of trespassing, destruction and violence.

Reports indicate that the men entered the party area illegally around 4 p.m. Police believe they destroyed a fence and stole from event stalls in addition to fighting with security staff. The men are still in police custody.

Police and party organizers said they were satisfied with the overall progression of the massive music and dance event. Despite the arrests, the atmosphere was described as positive and friendly.

About 40,000 people attended the rave.
