Muddy Dance Valley draws fewer people

7th August 2011, Comments 0 comments

Dance Valley has drawn only 30,000 thousand people this year and due to persistent downpours many left the event well before it ended.

Free ponchos and tents to shelter did little to keep people dancing when the rain turned the terrain into a muddy mess. Even the presence of Prime Minister Mark Rutte, who showed up in the afternoon and joined visitors for a photo op, failed to retain them.

There was space for 60,000 people in Spaarnwoude. A few weeks ago, however, tickets sales were so low that people received a second ticket for free.

The atmosphere was good, according to the police, who made just a few arrests. cl
