AMSTERDAM — A woman who was arrested on Saturday in relation to the death of her four-month-old baby Brenda has been freed from custody.
A spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor's Office (OM) confirmed on Thursday that the woman, 19, from Landgraaf in Limburg Province had been freed.
But the spokesperson declined to tell news agency ANP whether she is still a suspect in the case.
The 30-year-old father of the dead child was remanded in custody for a further 30 days on Tuesday on suspicion of manslaughter or assault resulting in death. He is not allowed to talk to family or friends, read books or newspapers or have access to television or radio.
Brenda was in an inanimate state when she was brought to a hospital in Heerlen on 19 August.
The following day police officers arrested her parents and a 53-year-old person who was living in the family home. The house mate has since been released.
