Charity organisations collect the most money when collectors go from door-to-door to ask for donations.

AMSTERDAM - Recent trials in Amsterdam show that charities collect the most money when door-to-door collectors carry a moneybox as well as a PIN terminal so people can make donations electronically.

When collectors carried only a moneybox, more people made donations but the amounts were smaller. When the only option was a PIN terminal, fewer people made donations but those who did gave larger amounts.
