Morgan Tsvangirai in the Netherlands

Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is in the Netherlands for a two-day visit.

The Hague - Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is in the Netherlands for a two-day visit.The African leader will first meet Development Minister Bert Koenders.

On Monday, he will meet Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende and Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen to discuss a number of issues including human rights and democracy in Zimbabwe. Tsvangirai is expected to ask the Netherlands for financial support.

According to the United Nations, Zimbabwe needs at least half a billion euros to prevent starvation among six million of its citizens.
 
After the Netherlands, the Zimbabwean prime minister will travel on to the United Kingdom, France and the United States.
