14 November 2007, LEEUWARDEN – Starting in 2009 there will be three trains per hour between Sneek and Leeuwarden, the province of Friesland announced on Wednesday.

LEEUWARDEN – Starting in 2009 there will be three trains per hour between Sneek and Leeuwarden, the province of Friesland announced on Wednesday.

There are currently two trains per hour in each direction between Sneek and Leeuwarden. Adding an extra train in each direction will cost EUR 5.5 million.

The number of passengers in the North has shown explosive growth. Over the past year 20 percent more people were riding the train in the region than a year earlier.
