More apply for jobs at Dutch defence ministry

Number of job applicants rose over the first four months of the year to 8,700.

The Hague – The number of people who applied for jobs at the Ministry of Defence over the past few months, reports ANP news agency.

According to a military spokesperson, the number of job applicants rose by 2,000 over the first four months of the year to 8,700.

He added that fewer defence personnel are resigning.

Most job seekers express an interest in an army position.

Despite an increased influx of applicants, Ministry of Defence still face a shortage in staff. It will take a while before all 7,300 vacancies in the ministry are filled up, said the spokesperson.
