On Friday, a Delft man discovered he was missing via a text message.

DELFT - The 19-year-old man left his parents' house on Friday morning in an agitated state.

To track him down, the local police began a Citizen's Network action and sent text messages or voice mails to thousands of local residents.

Because the young man had agreed to be part of a trial of this method of contacting residents, he was one of those who received a text message.

He promptly reported to a police station.
