Integration Minister Eberhard Van der Laan has called on Muslims to attend the annual Holocaust Memorial Day in Amsterdam on Sunday.

AMSTERDAM -- He says the Muslim and Jewish communities in the Netherlands agree that the fighting in the Gaza Strip should not become an "import problem".

He says the two sides should become more aware of the other's pain, with Muslims gaining a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and Jews gaining a deeper insight into the Palestinian Nakba of 1948. On Friday, Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende will meet with leaders of the Muslim and Jewish communities.

Was better for the minister to call for an annual 'whatever' memorial day for the gaza victims instead of seeing it as "import problem' for whatever this means..
