AMSTERDAM — Digital investigation agents from the Gelderland-Midden police are trying to establish whether a children’s psychiatric institution employee from Arnhem had child pornography on his computer.

The director of the institution in Zetten suspended the employee from working with children after investigative journalist John van den Heuvel accused the latter of having child pornography saved on his hard disk.

Van den Heuvel brought the computer to the police on Tuesday. He said he obtained possession of the computer indirectly.

The suspect denies Van den Heuvel’s accusations and has filed against him for slander.

Meanwhile, the computer investigation could take some time, the police said.
