At least 9,000 jobs will be axed in the mental health sector because of government cutbacks. One in nine people working in the sector will be out of work in the near future.

Speaking to Dutch news broadcaster NOS today, director of the national organisation for mental health GGZ Marleen Barth announced 7,000 full-time jobs will disappear because of a 600-million-euro budget reduction.
