Measures against poll fraud 'insufficient'
Action group does not trust voice computers, poll fraude attributed to leaking radio waves.
30 October 2006
AMSTERDAM - Poll fraud remains possible, in spite of measures which Minister Atzo Nicolaï (Administrative Renewal) has announced on Monday. Rop Gonggrijp, founder of the action group Wijvertrouwenstemcomputersniet.nl (we don’t trust voice computers) has said this.
The condemnation of the voice computer of Sdu by Gonggrijp votes as to be insufficiently satisfied for this reason. ‘Also the voice computer of Nedap leaks radio radiation. The voting secrecy in that case has not been guaranteed.'
Gonggrijp moreover expressed that he has shown that for people to whom access has been granted, it is possible to manipulate the memory modules of the voice machines of Nedap. ‘We want the election results to be independently observed.'
It is not yet known if the civil lawsuit by the action group against the minister will continue. The members of the action committee want to first study the letter from
Nicolaï to the Parliament.
