Mark van Bommel to play with Holland against Sweden

Holland captain Mark van Bommel will play against Sweden tonight and will not return to Germany, as demanded by his club Bayern Munich.

The German champions want the Dutch Football Association to send Van Bommel back to Germany immediately.

Bayern club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt is worried that Van Bommel will not be fit to play tonight after collecting a knee injury against Moldova on Friday.

The Holland captain didn’t join Sunday’s training session at the Amsterdam ArenA, but was fit enough to participate on Monday.

The German club earlier accused the Dutch FA of acting irresponsibly in the case of another injured key Bayern player, Arjen Robben, letting him play during the World Cup with a tear in his left hamstring. Failing to letting the injury heal properly caused Robben to miss the first few months of this season.
