AMSTERDAM — A 24-year-old Amsterdam man was seriously wounded in a shooting in the Osdorp district of the city on Wednesday morning.
Ambulance personnel responded to reports of the shooting at about 6am in the Vreedenhaven area but found no sign of the victim. Bystanders told the police that another man had lifted the victim and driven him away in a car.
Almost simultaneously, the police received a message that the car had just collided with another vehicle on the Tussen Meer street in Osdorp. Police arriving at the scene found the victim lying near the car. He was admitted to hospital, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in the first incident.
There was nobody in the car when the police arrived.
