It took all of two days for hospital staff to discover the body of an elderly patient who suffered a fatal heart attack in one of their toilets.

A spokesperson for the Atrium Medisch Centrum in the town of Heerlen has confirmed the report. The man, who was suffering from cardio-vascular and pulmonary complaints, had an appointment at the centre’s outpatients’ clinic on Wednesday.

He died when he went to the toilet just before his appointment, but his body was not discovered until Friday morning.

You cant blame the hospital staff. The public could not have noticed it either as the WC could be locked from inside. But this incident should bring about changes in daily functioning of a hopital ; at least in some departments.

Secure? Wow... I can think of some staff that need to be sacked.

So how often do they clean the toilets in Heerlen Hospital? That is really shocking!
