Manchester United and Internazionale have reached the quarter finals of the Champions League. Man united eliminated French champion Olympique Marseille in a home game at the Old Trafford stadium. The narrow 2-1 victory in the return game sufficed as the first duel between the two squads had ended in a 0-0 draw.

Javier Hernandez scored both goals for the UK club which won the Champions League in 2008. He scored in the fifth and the 75th minute of the match.

Titleholder Internazionale are hopeful of continuing last year’s success in the Champions League. In an away game in Munich, Inter more than made up for their 0-1 defeat at home in Milan. In the Allianz Arena, Inter beat Bayern München 3-2 and have reached the quarter finals.

Samuel Eto'o scored the first goal for Inter after just four minutes, but Bayern München – led by Dutch coach Louis van Gaal – at half time enjoyed a 2-1 lead after goals by Mario Gomez and Thomas Müller. Wesley Sneijder was responsible for the equaliser: 2-2. And Goran Pandev scored the winning goal just minutes before the final whistle.
