Major increase in house prices

The prices of non-new build homes rose by 4.5 percent in February, compared to a year earlier.

VOORBURG – The prices of non-new build homes rose by 4.5 percent in February, compared to a year earlier.

The price increase was the largest of the past six months, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reported Thursday.

Prices rose 4 percent in January, compared to the same period last year. Apartments showed the highest price increase in February – 6 percent. The smallest increase was in the price of terraced houses, which only showed a 3.6 percent increase.

The number of sales of homes rose as well. In February, 15,000 homes (non-new build) changed hands, 4 percent more than in February 2007.

    I don't believe this. I see many renovated apartments in Amsterdam lying empty. The government is lying about everything.
