THE HAGUE - Dutch police said Thursday they had arrested a suspected leader of the Camorra, the Naples mafia, wanted in Rome on charges of drug trafficking and membership of a criminal organisation.

Acting on a tip-off from Italian police, officers arrested the 60-year-old suspect overnight Wednesday at the coastal resort of Zandvoort, about 30 kilometres west of Amsterdam.

The suspect, aged 60, had been living there under a false name. In line with Dutch law, police did not release the real name of the suspect.
