AMSTERDAM – A majority in Parliament wants a stop put to parties at which young people openly watch pornography and at which sexual acts are performed.

At least twice a month parties are held at which a lot of porn is shown. "Sexuality should be something delicate and valuable," Labour party PvdA MP Jeroen Dijsselbloem told daily newspaper De Pers. "Sex and porn are entering into daily life. We don't want to let that happen."

Not only the PvdA, but also the Liberal VVD and Christian democrat CDA want to stop the issuing of permits for these kinds of parties.

On Sunday the Amsterdam club The Power Zone hosted an "urban music and porn" party which included pole dancers, sex being shown on large television screens and people having sex on a stage, the Pers reports.

The Amsterdam municipality is looking into whether the permit was abused this time. The Power Zone's license as an entertainment venue is only in danger if it presents "weekly sex shows," the municipality told the paper.
