THE HAGUE – Parliament wants the cabinet to look into whether a stop could be put to sex dating and 06-call in programmes that are broadcast on commercial television stations at night.

The broadcasts are categorised as "tele shopping" and Parliament wants the cabinet to look into whether the regulations for this type of show can be made more stringent.

A motion to this effect from ChristenUnie faction leader Arie Slob was passed on Thursday evening. Minister responsible for Media, Ronald Plasterk, has said in the past that he does not think legislation regarding these advertisements is a good idea.
