MORT - by Sir Terry Pratchett

The InPlayers are proud to present Terry Pratchett's Mort (as adapted by Stephen Briggs) at Het Fijnhout Theatre, Amsterdam on 2-4 & 8-11 December.

Death comes to us all. When he comes to Mort, he offers him a job. After being assured that being dead was not compulsory, Mort accepts. He gets board and lodging and free use of company horse, and doesn't even need time off for his grandmother's funeral. However, he soon finds that romantic longings did not mix easily with the responsibilities of being Death's apprentice.
When Mort, out of love and chivalry, prevents the scheduled demise of a princess, his actions cause a rift in the course of history from that point on causing two realities to exist simultaneously on the Discworld. This confuses the locals no end and brings the future of the whole Discworld into danger!
Meanwhile, Death is off enjoying a much needed holiday, discovering for the first time this strange human thing called "fun," and deciding he rather likes life now that he's had a chance to see what it's all about.
Terry Pratchett's 4th Discworld novel is brought to the stage in an adaptation by Stephen Briggs, and is as funny, heart warming and colourful as anything set in the Discworld can be. It is performed by the In Players, Amsterdam's oldest English-speaking amateur theatre company.
