Libya no-fly zone: Dutch offer military help
The Netherlands is ready to help implement a no-fly zone over Libya, Dutch PM Mark Rutte told reporters in Paris. An impromptu summit meeting in the French capital is working to translate Thursday's UN resolution into concrete military measures.
No request for input has been received yet, Mr Rutte said, adding that he would like to see everything put into motion as soon as possible. The Dutch leader said that even if Benghazi fell to Libyan government forces, concerted international action would remain necessary. Opposition forces in the eastern city are currently defending themselves against an assault by Tripoli's government forces.
The UN resolution ordered a cease-fire in Libya and imposed a no-fly zone over the country.
