AMSTERDAM — A lawyer has been given a four-month suspended sentence and order to undertake 100 hours community service following his conviction on child porn charges.

The court in The Hague also ordered Rotterdammer Victor K., 39, to remain under the supervision of the probation service. He was convicted of using the internet to distribute child porn.

K., the court heard, always dreamt of being a lawyer. Two years ago, he got his wish and worked for lawyer firm Rischen & Nijhuis in Rotterdam, until his own case was dealt with by the court.

Flooded with questions about K, the firm said on Monday that he is no longer employed there.
