Kramer and Pechstein take all rounder titles

At the European Skating Allround Championships in Heerenveen, the Netherlands' Sven Kramer and Germany's Claudia Pechstein have won the men and women's all round titles.

HEERENVEEN - In a striking display of power, Dutch ice skater Sven Kramer won his third European title in a row with a victory in the 10,000-meter competition.

This followed his previous victories in the five kilometre and 1,500 kilometre races. He completed the 10,000 metres in 13 minutes and 16/100 of a second.

The Norwegian Håvard Bøkko ranked second, while the Dutch skater Wouter Olde Heuvel placed third.

 Two other Dutch skaters in league, Carl Verheijen and Koen Verweij, ranked fifth and twelfth respectively.

For Claudia Pechstein, it was her third all round title in her career.

Germany's Daniela Anschutz placed second in the overall ranking, while the Czech Republic's Martina Sablikova placed third.

The Netherlands' Paulien van Deutenkom ranked fourth.
