Karadzic trial: Srebrenica in November
In the trial of Radovan Karadzic, Yugoslavia Tribunal prosecutor Serge Brammertz says he hopes to begin dealing in November with the charges of genocide relating to the fall of Srebrenica.
Thousands of Muslim men and boys were rounded up and shot by Bosnian-Serb troops after they had taken the Dutch-run UN enclave of Srebrenica in 1995.
The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia began the trial of the former Bosnian-Serb leader at the end of October 2009. Up to now, the court in The Hague has been dealing at length with war crimes alleged to have been committed during the siege of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.
