KLM to introduce social seating

6th December 2011, Comments 0 comments

Hoping to sit next to a cute blonde or blond on your long flight home? Or perhaps you'd rather share an armrest with a CEO so you can pitch your latest and greatest ideas. Soon that might just become possible using Air France / KLM's "social seating" service.

The idea is that passengers will be able to link their social media profile - such as Facebook or LinkedIn - to their check in information and then choose a suitable seating partner based their profile.

KLM says the service will be available to all passengers checking in online, but it will be up to travellers whether they make their social media profiles available.

The airline says social seating could create networking opportunities for business travellers. KLM hopes to launch the new service next year.
