KLM tells passengers to go home

KLM has asked passengers to go home if their ticket has not been transferred to a different flight. The airline hopes the measure will ease waiting times.

Schiphol Airport has told passengers not to come to the airport if their flight has been cancelled. Many European flights have been cancelled because of heavy snow throughout the continent. Even in Algeria 30 centimetres of snow has fallen.

A spokesperson for the airport says they expect the situation on Sunday to be similar to Saturday. Earlier some flights were taking off, but a number of passengers were stuck in queues and unable to board their planes.
