KLM flights to Jakarta resume
KLM flights to the the Indonesian capital Jakarta have resumed.
International airlines cancelled dozens of flights to Soekarno-Hatta airport in Indonesia because of an ash cloud caused by volcano eruptions from Merapi more than 450 kilometers away on Java.
A spokesperson for KLM told the press agency ANP "We are monitoring the situation from day to day. If it is safe then we'll fly."
Other airlines like Singapore Airlines have also resumed flights. Lufthansa and Phillippine Air flights remain cancelled for the time being.
The Merapi eruptions have already cost 138 lives since the first eruption on 26 October. The worst eruptions took place on Friday.
