AMSTERDAM – The public prosecution department (OM) has apprehended a suspect possibly linked to 20 killings as part of its investigation into a series of murders in criminal circles.  De Telegraaf reported this today.

The newspaper says it has a file which claims that suspect Sjaak B. has "at least 20 killings to his name."

B. reportedly carried out his first hit at the age of 16. He was reportedly part of a group of criminals surrounding Sam Klepper and John Mieremet, both of whom have been killed in recent years. B. was part of a "counter surveillance team" that kept an eye on police and justice officials.

It is being looked into whether B. can be linked to the murders of café boss Thomas van der B. and real estate magnate Kees Houtman.
