Joran has privileges in Peruvian prison
Commercial TV channel SBS6 in Amsterdam has said it will air an interview with Joran van der Sloot's former girlfried Melody Granadillo and the director of Joran's prison in Peru. The programme will be broadcast on Wednesday.
The crew was allowed to film inside the prison where Van der Sloot has been detained charged with the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in Lima. The prison director is on camera telling about Joran's treatment in his Castro Castro detention centre. It turned out that while most prisoners sleep in corridors or on a wooden bed shared with another detainee, Joran has been confined to a private cell.
Woman visitor Peruvian daily website that she is bringing him food and other things, which according to prison sources she is doing at his mother Anita van der Sloot's request.
Joran van der Sloot is also the main suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance. Celebrating her graduation on Aruba, the American teenager disappeared in 2005 after last having been seen in the company of Joran.
A former girlfriend of Van der Sloot, Melody Granadillo, told SBS6 TV that she had been in touch with Joran on the very day that he killed Stephany Flores. Melody says that Joran asked her for money.
