Investors want clarity on Dutch soccer club

The VEB, the Dutch union of share owners, wants Amsterdam's Ajax football club to call a special shareholders meeting as soon as possible to provide clarity about the management situation at the stock exchange-listed football club.

The VEB says there is widespread concern and uncertainty among investors now that all members of the executive and the supervisory board have tendered their resignations.

In a letter to Ajax on Monday, the VEB wrote that Ajax must provide clarity to its shareholders about the current situation, the vacant positions in the executive and the supervisory board, and the future of Ajax. The VEB said these issues could not wait until new board members have been appointed.

Ajax has not yet reacted to the VEB letter.
