THE NETHERLANDS - If you are looking for love and a bit of excitement, de Volkskrant might have the answer. An association for convicts is setting up a dating agency for prison inmates. Inmates looking for a relationship can send their personal details by post to the association.
A representative says "Relationships often break up during detention and it is difficult to find a new partner."

However, a relationship increases the chance of ex-convicts staying on the straight and narrow. To protect the identity of the lovesick detainees, only the initials are given.
Ordinary dating sites are out of reach for convicts as they do not have access to the Internet, and they often turn to newspaper ads. But one magazine recently decided to scrap its contact ads because most responses came from prisons.

At least if women contact this dating agency, they'll know what they could be letting themselves in for.

A psychologist tells de Volkskrant, "excitement may be the reason why some women respond".
