AMSTERDAM – The results of the investigation into the murder of real estate magnate Willem Endstra point to the involvement of 27-year-old suspect O.C..

This is why C. must be kept in custody, public prosecutor M. IJzendoorn told the court in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

There are now three or four "highly incriminating statements" against C., IJzendoorn said. His fingerprint was also found on a parking ticket found in a van that authorities think was used as a lookout post for the crime.

DNA evidence from C. was also found in the van. The public prosecutor says a tapped phone conversation contains further indications that the suspect was involved in the murder.

The court decided today not to grant a request from the prosecution that the case be heard without media or public present.
