AMSTERDAM — Dutch couples are satisfied with their sex lives, giving bedroom romance an average score of seven out of 10.
A survey of 1,200 carried out by magazine HP/De Tijd found that Dutch couples give their relationships an overall average score of eight out of 10.
The force of attraction seems to be renewable as 85 percent of the people in a relationship said they still found their partner attractive.
Some 80 percent said they still found their partner "quite" or "very" attractive. The men were slightly more enthusiastic on this point than the women.
This might in part be explained by the fact 60 percent of the men admitted doing nothing to ensure they stay attractive for their partner. When a man does take measures, this usually involves losing weight.
The survey also confirmed that shaving pubic hair is a popular procedure, with half of the men and two thirds of the women in a relationship of 10 years or less admitting to trimming down below.
HP/De Tijd further discovered that having young children has little or no impact on as couple's sex life.
