Huntelaar liability with broken nose

Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar broke his nose on Friday in Europa League duty, just two days before his club, Schalke 04, second in the German league, is to face Hanover 96.

The 28-year-old was fitted with a protective mask, but the Royal Blues are waiting to see if their star striker -- who has scored 21 goals in 19 matches this season -- will be fit to play.

Huntelaar suffered the injury in the 81st minute of his team's goalless draw with AEK Larnaka from Cyprus Thursday after colliding with team-mate Joel Matip.

Schalke are four points behind German league leaders Bayern Munich, who face Augsburg on Sunday.

Huntelaar has been included in the Netherlands squad which faces Switzerland in a friendly in Amsterdam on Friday, and Germany in Hamburg four days later.
