26 November 2007, AMSTERDAM/EINDHOVEN – Hundreds of schools students gathered at the Museumplein in Amsterdam on Monday morning to protest the requirement that they spend 1,040 hours in class each school year. Police were on hand to make sure the demonstration did not get out of hand. Dozens of students also gathered at the Stadhuisplein in Eindhoven. Pupils staged protests last Friday as well. At least 1,000 students gathered at the Museumplein then. During the protest troublemakers smashed car windows.

AMSTERDAM/EINDHOVEN – Hundreds of schools students gathered at the Museumplein in Amsterdam on Monday morning to protest the requirement that they spend 1,040 hours in class each school year. Police were on hand to make sure the demonstration did not get out of hand. Dozens of students also gathered at the Stadhuisplein in Eindhoven.
 
Pupils staged protests last Friday as well. At least 1,000 students gathered at the Museumplein then. During the protest troublemakers smashed car windows. Teenagers also gathered at the Leidseplein in Amsterdam and caused some damage to trams and shops.

Students tried to force their way into the City Hall in Eindhoven on Friday but were unsuccessful. Two boys were arrested for setting fireworks and throwing eggs.
