Several hundred police officers gathered in Amsterdam-West on Friday morning for a protest meeting.

AMSTERDAM – Several hundred police officers gathered in Amsterdam-West on Friday morning for a protest meeting in connection with strikes by regional police.

During the meeting, president of the Dutch Police Union Hans van Duijn spoke to those in attendance about the conflict between the unions and Home Affairs Minister Guusje ter Horst over the collective labour agreement for the police.

Seven district teams in Amsterdam-West will be operating on a skeleton staff between 9 am and 1 pm on Friday.
