House arrest lifted on boys who threatened schools
Two boys were placed under house arrest for making threatening calls to a school in Weesp.WEESP – The house arrest imposed on two boys who made threatening telephone calls to a school has been lifted.
The two boys, aged 13 and 14, from Weesp are free to leave their homes on Tuesday. The boys were arrested two weeks ago after they confessed to telephoning a school in Weesp claiming to be "the Weesp serial killer".
The call, made in the wake of the murder of two babies and a female carer at a crèche in the Belgian town of Dendermonde, caused consternation in Weesp.
The boys were caught after pictures of the telephone they used to make the threats were shown on the television programme Opsoring Nederland.
Both boys have expressed their regret for their actions.
