AMSTERDAM – The court has decided to postpone any further hearings in the case against Willem Holleeder and nine fellow suspects until September. The case was suspended unexpectedly last month when main suspect Holleeder was taken into hospital with serious heart problems.

Holleeder has since undergone surgery and is recovering in the prison hospital in Scheveningen. He will not be able to appear in court soon at the high security facility in Amsterdam-Osdorp.

The court has indicated already that it would like to continue handling the cases against Holleeder and his fellow suspects in conjunction. The justice department suspects Holleeder and the others of blackmailing four wealthy businessmen.
