Holland line-up named for Hungary
Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has announced the 23-strong squad which will take on Hungary in Budapest on Friday 25 March and in Amsterdam on 29 March, as part of their campaign to qualify for next year’s European football championships.
Unbeaten Holland lead UEFA Euro 2012 Group E with Hungary trailing three points. Missing from the line-up is Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, who had surgery on a broken thumb this week and will be out of action for the rest of the season. To replace him, Van Marwijk called up two substitutes: FC Twente veteran Sander Boschker and Jelle ten Rouwelaar from NAC Breda. For the first time since last year’s World Cup final, Holland’s “Big Four” Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben, Dirk Kuyt and Wesley Sneijder are all fit to play.
