THE HAGUE - Ayaan Hirsi Ali talked with the National Coordinator for Anti-terrorism Tjibbe Joustra about her security on Tuesday. A spokesperson for Joustra said this on Tuesday in response to a report on RTL Nieuws.

The spokesperson did not want to comment on the substance of the discussion, which he called a "technical discussion." The NCTb as a rule does not comment on the nature of security provided to individuals.

It is not clear whether the former VVD politician also talked with other authorities about her security situation.

RTL Nieuws reports that she met with Rita Verdonk. Verdonk had a major clash with Hirsi Ali last spring when the minister at the time contested Hirsi Ali's Dutch citizenship.

Verdonk's attitude in that period led ultimately led to the fall of Balkenende's second government. Hirsi Ali and Verdonk reportedly ran into each other by chance at the De Indes Hotel in The Hague, RTL reports.
